Lava Launched Iris Pro 20 In India For Rs 13,999
The
Indian smartphone vendor Lava has launched the second device in Iris Pro series
of smartphones, called the Iris Pro 20 with a price tag of Rs 13,999. The Iris
Pro 20 comes with a 4.7" qHD (960×540 pixels), built using One Glass
Solution (OGS) and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core SoC paired with 1GB of RAM.
Also included is 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using
a microSD card.
The
smartphone also features an 8MP camera at the back, supplemented by a VGA
camera at the front, and a 2,000mAh battery that the company claims will
survive 7.5 hours of talktime. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card
slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and on the software front, it runs on
Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.
At
this price segment, the Iris Pro 20 will be up against the likes of the Xolo
Q900, Lenovo S820 and the Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini A200 among others. It has
one big disadvantage though when compared to the competition — where other
devices flaunt a 720p HD display, the Iris Pro 20 is stuck with a qHD display.
The
Xolo Q900 is much cheaper with a price tag of Rs 10,199, yet it offers similar
specifications as well as a 720p display and a better front camera (2MP). The
Lenovo S820 offers more internal storage (8GB) as well as a better set of
cameras (12MP/2MP). And finally, the Canvas Turbo Mini A200 which too flaunts a
720p display, has a slightly better clock speed (1.3GHz), a much better front
camera (5MP) and is also a bit lighter on the pockets (Rs 12,599).
