Ios 7.1 Starts Rolling Out For Iphone, Ipad And Ipod Touch
As
expected, Apple has released the first major update to iOS 7 since its launch
in September last year. iOS 7.1 brings in a host of UI tweaks, new features
like CarPlay and bug fixes.
The first
thing that you are likely to notice is the subtle changes to the user interface
with Apple opting for more rounded UI elements. The phone dialer gets a tweak
along with new accept and decline buttons for incoming calls. The Music player
too gets new buttons for shuffle and repeat functions. The keyboard too gets a
tweak with delete and shift keys now more prominent than before.
One
of the biggest features to be included is CarPlay, which integrates one’s iOS
device with the car’s infotainment system and lets one use it hands-free. The
camera on the iPhone 5S gets an option to switch on HDR by default. Users can
also select if they need parallax effect when selecting new custom wallpaper.
In
addition to all the above, there are also quite a few improvements and bug
fixes, chief among which is the fix for the random reboots and Touch ID
recognition issues.
