Chrome Beta For Android Brings Undo Tab Close

Image
Google has released a new version of the Chrome Beta browser for Android (v35.0.1916.34). Highlight of this release is, a handy undo function for closed tabs. If you ever find yourself accidentally closing a tab, you will get an undo button at the bottom of the screen, which will quickly reopen the tab. If you keep pressing it, the app will keep reopening previously closed tabs. Another change is to fullscreen video playback within the browser. The controls for fullscreen video have now been revamped and instead of the large playback control overlay at the bottom you just get a longer version of the standard controls in fullscreen mode. Although different, this is not exactly better than the previous arrangement. Although it takes up less space on screen, you can no longer just hit the forward/backward buttons to skip a few seconds ahead or back in a video (Google acknowledges this issue in the release notes). Also, the fullscreen mode still lacks support for immersive mo...

IOS 8 And Os X 10.10: What Do We Know

Image
Last week Apple confirmed that WWDC 2014 will kick off on June 2 in San Francisco. The Cupertino-based company has traditionally been unveiling the next iteration of iOS and OS X from past couple of years during the developers’ conference and 9To5Mac has compiled a detailed list of everything known about the forthcoming operating systems. iOS 8 (codenamed Okemo) will be more of an evolutionary update than a revolutionary update like the iOS 7. It is expected to further improve the performance of the OS, while adding new features and services. Fitness tracking is going to be a big thing on iOS 8, which is another indication that Apple’s rumored smartwatch is not too far off. The ‘Healthbook’ app will keep a track of all fitness-related data like heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar levels and weight among others. With an UI similar to Passbook, this app will collate these data from all fitness related devices and save it for reference. Another health-related app will be the ...

How To Install 'Unofficial' Apps On Nokia X

Image
It's well known now that the Nokia X is fully capable of running a huge number of Android apps, even those that aren't available in Nokia Store. Fortunately, it's also pretty easy to find these apps and install them. We'll take you through a simple tutorial so you can take advantage of this too. Due to competition with the Windows Phone platform and limitations of the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) fork that Nokia has created for the X family, the Google Play store is not available on the Nokia X. This means that a lot of popular apps aren't easily available to users. If apps aren't available in Nokia's own store, users have the option of checking any of four other Android app stores: 1mobile market, SlideME market, Aptoide, and Yandex Store. These are available from the Nokia store homepage as well as search results pages. Once installed, you can use any of them just as easily as the native app store. For example, you can open the...
