Offline Playback Is Coming To YouTube, Starting In India

In the age of limited data plans you have to choose wisely when it comes to streaming away from the friendly confines of your home WiFi. Many Android apps allow you to download media for offline enjoyment. This is common among streaming music apps and podcast players. What if you could do the same with YouTube videos? Google has announced offline playback for YouTube. Within the coming weeks much of YouTube will be available offline in India. Users will be able to download videos and keep them on their device to play whenever they please. This is a huge deal for India, but other countries can’t help but feel a little jealous. There is no official word on whether this will come to other countries. Hopefully if all goes well in India it will become a standard feature.

Motorola Moto G Successor Will Also Be Called Moto G

Motorola is hosting an event in India on September 5 where it will launch the successor to the popular Moto G. Earlier today; the smartphone was spotted on an Indian import manifest indicating that India would be one of the first markets where the phone would be launched. While the device was earlier referred to as the Moto G2, we now have evidence that it would simply be called “Moto G.” We have come across a photo taken at a Flipkart warehouse that shows the box of the Moto G successor and surprisingly the name on the box is Moto G. Flipkart has been Motorola’s exclusive retail partner and it seems the arrangement will continue with the second generation smartphones as well. Earlier today, we also came across a report claiming that the successor to the Moto X will be called “The new Moto X.” From what we know so far, the forthcoming Moto G will feature a 5-inch 720p display and a Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM.
